Lyme Ninja-Never Give Up

Updated: Dec 14, 2024

Welcome to the Lyme Ninja Blog

Hello and welcome! My name is Talan Yorn, also known as the Lyme Ninja. This blog is a space where I’ll share my journey—from battling Lyme disease to stepping onto the stage of American Ninja Warrior. Along the way, I’ve faced challenges that tested my limits, but they also taught me about resilience, hope, and the power of community.

Why I’m Here

I’ve lived with Lyme disease for my entire life, contracting it in utero. After years of misdiagnoses and health challenges, I was finally diagnosed at age seven. Even with treatment, the road hasn’t been easy. In 2017, toxic mold exposure led to years of being bedridden. Yet, in the face of adversity, I found my calling: to inspire others, raise awareness, and advocate for those who feel unseen and unheard.

In 2021, after beginning IV treatments and moving to a mold-free home, I started training for Ninja Warrior competitions. Three years later, I competed on American Ninja Warrior Season 17—a moment I never thought possible during my darkest days.

What to Expect

This blog is more than just my story; it’s a space for:

  • Advocacy: Raising awareness about Lyme disease and advocating for research, better treatment options, and education.

  • Inspiration: Sharing lessons learned, victories big and small, and tips to overcome life’s obstacles.

  • Community: Connecting with others who share similar struggles or dreams, fostering hope, and creating a space where everyone feels heard.

Join the Journey

Whether you’re battling Lyme disease, chasing a dream, or simply seeking encouragement, I’m glad you’re here. Together, we can make a difference, one step, one story, and one obstacle at a time.

Stay tuned for upcoming posts about my experiences on American Ninja Warrior, insights into Lyme disease advocacy, and tips for finding strength through the toughest challenges.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Remember: never give up, never back down, and never stop fighting.
